Week 6
What an exciting night! First thanks for the generous donations. We raised more money last night than in all the weeks combined. Excellent job! The updated Palliny Awards have been posted. As I mentioned before, the actual number of votes are now hidden. The leaders in each category are posted. But it’s super close. In 5 of the categories, the difference in votes is 6 or less. So please keep the donations coming in and win a prize!
Ohio State and Michigan
Bruins and Canadians
Red Sox and Yankees
You may have thought those were real sport rivalries. Not so fast my friend…
#1 in that category is Son of a Bocce and Snakes on a Pallino. I was there first hand to officiate this passionate match between old friends. Don’t let anyone tell you that bocce isn’t a real sport.
And then there was 1. Kieth Carlton and Crew suffered their first defeat last night. After the match they weren’t worried as they figured they’d need to get a loss out of their system and take the pressure off. De-BoCce-Ry survived a scare with a come from behind victory to remain the final undefeated team.
Next week is the last of the regular season. The top 2 teams in each league will be eligible for the championship. All teams will play however during the final week. Currently De-BoCce-Ry has clinched a spot in the playoffs. In the Paul Revere League, Kieth Carton and Crew has the best shot of joining them. However if they lose by 12 next week and the Wayne Brady squad wins by more than 11, Wayne Brady will reach the playoffs.
In the Sam Adams League, it’s madness! 6 of the 9 teams still have a shot for the playoffs. I’m looking forward to the many thrilling matches next week. We have been contacted by NESN.com and they are sending someone to cover the championship game for an article on their website.
