Deboccery are the Champs!
Bocce Tonight will be the message when we resume things on August 28th. In the meantime, you’ll have a few Wednesdays free. Good thing that you’ll have the Bruins to keep you occupied tonight. Last Wednesday went a bit long and I certainly wasn’t exactly at full strength when I had my annual review first thing the next morning. I’m glad they do that paperwork ahead of time.
Registration for the Fall League is here
So a big congrats goes out to Deboccery. They defeated My Drinking Team with a Bocce Problem. They went up quickly scoring a perfect 4 on their first round. But slowly My Drinking Team started to creep back. But the hole was too much to overcome. They won the league and collect their trophies and $120 in cash!
Pictures are up on the facebook page
Our next bar crawl is scheduled for July 20th! It’s a Christmas In July theme. Tickets are only $10 through Friday which include a koozie and t-shirt. More info on that here
Week 5 Update
Congrats to Deboccery, My Drinking Team with a Bocce Problem, I Wanna Feel Your Flannel and I’d Tap That. These 4 teams are eligible for the championship next week.
EVERY TEAM will still play week 6. Updated schedule is now posted. Please note that you may play earlier or later than you usually do because of the playoff matchups.
Fall Season is now 40% full. That will take place August 28th until October 2nd (provided our equipment doesn’t go missing again).
Remember! It’s first come, first serve for team slots and time slots. It’s doubtful that we’ll be having a Winter Season this year so this will be it until probably March/April of 2014.
Pirate Bar Crawl / Party Cruise is on Saturday. More details here
Week 4 Bocce Update
Standings for week 4 have been updated.
Deboccery went down for the first time yesterday so we no longer have any undefeated teams.
Match of the Week
They’re all important! Next week is the final week of the regular season. Everyone will play in week 6 but only the top 4 teams will be eligible for the championship. 6 of our 10 teams have 2 – 2 records. So really it’s a toss up. Differential is the tie breaker and with a big win (or loss) crazy things could happen.
Updated pictures can be found on the Bocce In Boston facebook page.
And finally we’ve figured out the dates for the Fall Season. That will take place August 28th until October 2nd (provided our equipment doesn’t go missing again).
Currently we’re 33% filled

Pirate Bar Crawl / Party Cruise is coming up quickly. More details here
Week 3 Update and Fall Registration
Standings for week 3 have been updated.
This is wide open as we only have 1 undefeated team: Deboccery. Every other team has either 1 or 2 wins. Mathematically every team is still playoff eligible. So even if you’re towards the bottom of the standings, if you play well the next 2 weeks anything could happen.
Game of the Week
I’d Tap That vs My Drinking Team with a Bocce Problem
Currently they’re the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams. A win would almost assure a playoff appearance. A loss could crush those hopes.
Pictures can be found on the Bocce In Boston facebook page.
And finally we’ve figured out the dates for the Fall Season. That will take place August 28th until October 2nd (provided our equipment doesn’t go missing again). We did have a small blurb on our facebook page yesterday and glad to see that 2 teams have already signed up. Hope to have you with us again. It’s first come, first serve for team slots and time slots.
Have a fantastic LONG weekend
Booce is Back
We were slowed down for a couple weeks due to our bocce balls being stolen.
NEW BALLS HAVE NOW ARRIVED!
We’ll be back tomorrow to continue the Spring League. Very much looking forward to it.
Fall 2013 Registration is also now open. Sign ups on first come, first serve basis
Week 2 Update
Week 5 is Complete
Congrats to Jack N Our Balls, Pallino Loco, Bocce Ballers and Balls to the Wall. These 4 teams will be playing for the championship next week.
All 4 of these teams are participating for the first time with Bocce In Boston. So this is the first time we’ve had all 4 rookie teams play in the finals. This is also the first time we didn’t have at least one undefeated team going into the finals.
And the side bets have begun. If I remember correctly, Bocce Ballers and Balls to the Wall have a series of wagers going on during their match on Wednesday.
1. Team that loses rock, paper, scissors has to buy a round of shots and beers for other team
2. First team to 7 points, loser has to buy a round of shots and beers for other team
3. Loser of the match also has to buy a round of shots and beers for the other team
This is going to get interesting. It brings back memories of the finals a few years ago when people started jumping on the bar and doing body shots. That was one heck of a night.
The schedule is also now updated for next week. All games will be re-matches. You’ll be playing against the team you finished closest with in the standings. #3 vs #4 and #5 vs #6. The schedule can be found here.
Usually we do a Summer League but my work schedule is pretty hectic this summer and I couldn’t find 6 consecutive weeks that I’d be around. So I’m moving things up a little and doing a Spring League. This league will begin in late April and time slots are based on a first come, first serve basis. More info regarding the Spring League here.
Other events in the pipeline
Valentine’s Crawl has been postponed to next Saturday due to Nemo
Irish Pub Challenge is on 3/9/13
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Bar Crawl is on 4/20/13
See you next week -J
Week 4 Complete
Week 4 is complete
Many teams still have a chance at the championship. The top two teams in each league are eligible for the playoffs (currently Jack N Our Balls, Pallino Loco, Bocce Ballers and Balls to the Wall) but mathematically 9 of our 12 teams can still make it if things fall right next week. This is far from over.
Unfortunately I forgot to charge my camera so no pictures this week.
Matches of the Week
Paul Revere League
Jack N Our Balls (4 – 0) vs Pallino Loco (3 – 1)
1st place vs 2nd place. Jack N Our Balls is our final undefeated team as Pallino Loco lost a close one last night. This could easily be a playoff preview.
Sam Adams League
Blackballed (2 – 2) vs Balls to the Wall (2 – 2)
Only 4 points in the differential column divides these teams. The loser is certainly out of the playoffs while the winner has an excellent chance to clinch.
Week 3
Week 3 is complete
I thought I had seen everything in all the years of doing this. But last night was a first. We had 3 different matches that finished 13 – 0. So the standings are a lot different today than they were yesterday.
And it’s still wide open, mathmatically most of the teams are still alive for the playoffs. And don’t forget, even though the top 4 teams are eligible for the championship, all teams will play in week 6.
Matches of the Week
Paul Revere League
Pallino Loco (3 – 0) vs Big In Bocce (1 – 2)
Pallino Loco is one of our 2 undefeated teams remaining and have looked stellar so far. Former champions, Big In Bocce, need to win this match to have any chance at the playoffs.
Sam Adams League
Blackballed (2 – 1) vs Bocce Ballers (2 – 1)
Both teams are tied with the same record but 14 points separates them in the differential column. This match will determine how close these 2 teams really are.
Our Valentine’s Crawl is on 2/9/13 and we’re expecting 1,200+ people. Tickets are on sale now and going quickly. More info at

Week 1
Week 1 is complete
And I made a small schedule tweak
Regarding the playoffs. Everyone will play in week 6 but only 4 teams will be eligible for the championship. It will be the top 2 teams in each of the 6:15 and 7:15 time slots. So if the playoffs ended today, it would be Little Balls, Big Magic vs Pallino Loco and Chewbocce vs Boccelism Kills. With the winners of each of those matches playing for the championship (trophies and $120 cash)
Last night was very enjoyable. This might be our most fun group to date. Looking forward to next week.
Other news, our bread and butter is the bar crawls. Our Valentine’s Crawl is on 2/9/13 and we’re expecting 1,200+ people. Tickets are on sale now (early bird tickets through this Saturday). More info at
