Week 1

Hi Bocce Ballers,

The Chronicle segment is set to air in a couple weeks. On May 4th or 5th at 7:30. Once I have more info, I’ll shoot it your way.

Everything from week 1 has now been updated.

You can find current standings here:

The schedule for the entire season is also on the website.  I had to make a few small changes last night as I noticed that some teams were playing each other multiple times:

Next week, we’ll be starting our Palliny Awards. They’re the superlatives for our bocce players. Votes cost $.50 and all the proceeds go towards our charity. Last season it was the Children’s Hospital. The winners of each category will also get a prize. This past winter season we raised over $200. You can find out more info here

On June 11th, our sister site , Crawl In Boston will be having their annual Pirate Crawl. It’s a combo bar crawl and booze cruise. This event will sell out. More info here

And yes, we do have an odd number of teams as our 16th team had to back out last minute due to work conflicts. If you have anyone interested in joining, they can be added at a prorated rate. A few people mentioned last night that they might know people who would want to form a team and play, so have them get in touch with me ASAP.  First come, first served.   Or if you know of one or two people, send them my way and we can make a team of four.

Thanks, and have a fantastic weekend.  See you next Wednesday.

Play Ball

Hello Bocce Ballers,

Opening day has arrived. Let’s get ready for some bocce!

As I mentioned yesterday, all of the shirts have not yet arrived.  I was crossing my fingers that they’d arrive in last night’s mail, but no dice. Shirts for Bocceball-Z, Gordon Bombay Sapphires, Pure Deboccerie, Sammy Adams, Boccelism, Captain Planet’s BE-occes and The Bad News Bears won’t be available until next week.

We’ll be at Paddy O’s early to set up. The courts should be up no later than 6:00 so if you want to come early to throw some balls around, feel free. I know many of you haven’t played our indoor game before and it’s a lot different than traditional bocce.  Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you can’t make it to tonight’s match.

Winter Season Complete

What a great finish to the season. Cousins from Another Mother and The Baghdad Bocce Club found themselves tied 12 – 12. Cousins had the closest balls with Baghdad having only one ball left. And somehow they pulled it through knocking the Cousins closest ball out of the way and having their ball set right next to the pallino. One of the most clutch shots that I’ve ever seen. Congrats!

I hope you all had an amazing time. Registration is open for the Spring Season, and so sign up ASAP to ensure your spot. Already 4 teams from last night have registered.

We also hope to see many of you at our Mardi Gras crawl this Saturday, and next week at the St. Patrick’s Day Crawl hosted by our friends at Tenon tours.
