Spring League Champs

The Spring Season has come to an end.  Thanks so much for participating.  We had a really fun time, and we hope you did too.

Congrats go out to Bocceball Z who won their first championship over our fall 2010 champs, the Gordon Bombay Sapphires.

We’re taking a little break but will be back for our Summer Season on July 13th. We’re looking forward to seeing you compete again then.

In the meantime, our next event will be our 3rd annual Pirate Crawl. It’s a bar crawl and booze cruise all wrapped into one fun-filled day. Currently tickets are $25 but will switch to $30 on Saturday, so if you plan on attending save some money and get yours today.

Cheers!

Week 4 – Chronicle Segment

Bocce In Boston will be featured in the “Night Out” segment of tonight’s Chronicle starting at 7:30 on Channel 5. Be sure to set your DVR’s. Or click here

I can’t believe we’re already at week 4. A lot of fun matches tonight.

The summer season is just around the corner. That season will run on Wednesdays from 7/13 – 8/17. More info here

Info regarding the Crawl In Boston Pirate Bar Crawl / Booze Cruise can be found here

Week 3

The standings have been updated. You can find them here.

We’re down to 2 undefeated teams however EVERY team but one (sorry Team Bocce-lism) is still mathematically alive to be playoff eligible.

Remember to set your DVR’s to tape Chronicle next Wednesday on Channel 5 at 7:30. We’re going to ask them to play it at the bar but if the Bruins or Celtics are playing a playoff game then we’ll get bumped.

In other news, our partner site, Crawl In Boston, is having their 3rd annual Pirate themed bar crawl / booze cruise on June 11th. This event sells out every year (only so many people you can fit on a boat). The event is still 5 weeks to go but half the tickets have already been sold. Visit here for more information including pictures from the past 2 years

Have a fantastic Cinco de Mayo and weekend

Back to School Crawl Update

Hey Crawlers,

We are days away from the Back to School Crawl presented by Crawl In Boston and Sumo Skinny. The weather forecast calls for a beautiful day in the mid 70’s. We’re looking forward to some great memories and meeting new friends this weekend.

We’ll have stations set up at each bar where you can register and make your $5 (or more!) donation to The Pink Agenda. With your donation you will receive a beverage koozie, nametag and wristband that will get you the drink specials throughout the crawl, plus you won’t have to pay cover at any of the bars.  Your donations mean so much, and we’re so appreciative of how generous our Crawlers are. We will have very limited change so please have the exact amount of money you wish to donate available. We do get plagued by the ATM curse, especially at the first bar, and we may not have change.

Schedule

2:00 – The Point – Freshman Year – Spiked Punch ($3)

3:00 – Paddy O’s – Fraternity Party – Dos XX & Miller Light Draft ($2)
4:00 – Hennessy’s – Tailgate – Corona Light Bottles ($2)
5:00 – Sanctuary – All-Nighter – Red Bull & Vodka ($3)
6:00 – JA Stats – Spring Break – Jungle Juice ($3)
7:00 – The Place – Sorority Party – Jell-O Shots ($3)
8:00- Market – Graduation – Champagne ($3)

Our partner groups have exciting news  to share as well:

Our friends at Sumo Skinny (http://www.sumoskinny.com) are doing giveaways this month. If you sign up in the month of September you are entered to win 2 Patriots tickets, a $25 Charlie Card and other goodies.

Indoor Mini Golf is coming to Boston (http://puttinboston.com). League play begins on September 22nd for this 6 week season. Teams will consist of 2 players and the course will include 9 holes.

The Pub Pong League begins on September 23rd (http://socializeinboston.com/pong-in-boston). 2 games per week over a 6 week season. It comes out to only $16 per person for the season, plus you get your first beer on me each week. We’ll have food and tons of weekly prizes.

Summer Champs – “That’s Boc-CE said!”

Thanks to everyone for playing. We had a really good time. Congrats to That’s Boc-CE said! for winning the summer league championship.

As many of you know, we’re taking a bocce hiatus this fall to launch our

mini golf http://puttinboston.com/

and beer pong http://socializeinboston.com/pong-in-boston

leagues. We will be back in January for a winter season. Hope to see you then if not before.

As I was walking home last night, I was thinking who would win in a match between our current champs, That’s Boc-CE said! and our spring champs, De-BoCce-Ry. Would love to see that match this winter. I thought so more and realized they have a ton in common.

1. Team Name – They both spell their team names with hyphens and random capitalized letters “De-BoCce-Ry” vs “That’s Boc-CE said”

2. Team Color – They both wore the same cornflower light blue color

3. Team Record – They both finished with identical 8 – 1 records

4. Team Makeup – They both had 2 girls and 2 guys on their roster

5. Team Finish – They both defeated Bocced Boob Job in the finals to win the championship

Week 6 Recap

It was a very entertaining night.
Lots of stuff to get to:
1. We had many blowouts last night (which all happened during the 8:00 time
slot)
Thats Bocce Said won 13 0 over Son of a Bocce

Thats Boc-Ce Said! won 13 1 over The Shot Put Rejects

Put It On My Tab won 13 1 over Nobody Puts Bocce in the Corner

Big Ballers won 13 -2 over Beotches with Balls

We also had a couple of very close games

Bocced Boob Job 13 12 over Bocce-lism

Joanie Loves Bocce 13 12 over The Milk Street Bowlers

Congrats to Bocced Boob Job. Theyre the final undefeated team left as Deboccery
LLC went down to the Prom Night Dumpster Babies. Bocced Boob Job also is the
only team that has now officially clinched a playoff spot.

2. One week to go in the regular season. To see the updated standings go here

Every team will play during the final week. However only the top 2 teams in each
league will be eligible for the playoffs. If the season ended today it would be
Bocced Boob Job, Joanie Loves Bocce, Deboccery LLC and Thats Boc-CE said! But we
have a lot more bocce to play. Teams Cousins from Another Mother, Big Ballers,
Prom Night Dumpster Babies, Fist Pump All-Stars and Blackballed are all
mathematically still in this.
3. Pictures from last night are up at our facebook page

4. Last night someone suggested an All-Star game. Im all for more bocce so why
not. It would take place during week 8. If you want to be involved, volunteer 1
all-star player from your team and send it my way ASAP so I can work out the
logistics.
5. Another suggestion last night came in the form of a charity contribution.
Weve been doing an excellent job via the Palliny Awards to raise money for The
Home for Little Wanderers. But I want to give a special shout out to the members
of Blackballed. Jennifer, Mia, Michael and Jeff have presented us with $25
checks each for the charity. Thanks to them weve reached the $300 goal. However
we can smash that goal and really set our sights higher. Charitable
contributions are certainly optional but please give what you can. If you want
to give a check, please make it out to The Home for Little Wanderers. The team
that raises the most will be receiving a bocce philanthropy award.

6. After each victory, Jesse and Matt buy a pair of scratch tickets and share
the winnings. Last night they were lucky enough to win $20 on their first
ticket. Score! But that was nothing compared to their 2nd ticket. A $2,000
winning scratch ticket found its way into their hands. And there was plenty of
celebrating (and shots on them) at the bar afterwards to celebrate. Congrats!

7. Mini Golf begins next month.

Have a fantastic weekend -Jay
