Registration is now closed
Very excited to have so many teams back and looking forward to meeting the new teams!
See you on July 7th!
Summer League – Registration Extended
We had a tremendous amount of teams sign up yesterday. But now we have an odd number of registered teams. So we need one more. Registration will be temporarily extended until we get an even number of teams.
We’re down to the final week for summer registration. We need time to get the shirts made so we can’t extend past that date. We have open spots for teams and individuals looking for teams.
Indoor Bocce has taken the country by storm. After a very successful spring season, we are happy to announce that we will be having a summer session as well. The Bocce In Boston League will be an 8 week season taking place on Wednesday nights. This weeknight league let you show off your bocce skills, raise some money for The Home for Little Wanderers and give you the chance to network with other Bostonians.
Matches will be held on Wednesday nights at Jose McIntyre’s located at 160 Milk Street in the Faneuil Hall / Financial District area. The season will begin on July 7th and go until August 25th. The starting times are at 6:30, 7:15 and 8:00. Registration will be $160 per team (only $5 per person/week). We will also have t-shirts as part of registration costs and an awesome trophy for the winners. Prizes will be given out to other league participants as well.
Week 8 / Finals
Thanks to everyone for participating in the inaugural Bocce In Boston season. We look forward to seeing you during the summer.
Congrats to De-BoCce-Ry who won the championship over the Bocced Boob Job team. It was a very fun match to watch.
The NESN.com guy got plenty of info so once his story is posted, I’ll let you know.
Congrats also to our Palliny Winners. The proceeds to The Home for Little Wanderers will be very much appreciated. It seemed that everyone liked their prizes last night.

Many of you asked me about the status of the Summer. Registration is now open to everyone. So it’s first come, first serve to all. We do have plenty of spots left but don’t wait until the last minute. Registering your team early also gives you priority on shirt color (I know one returning team that has already decided to go with a new look). So keep that in mind as well.
Also, if you don’t have a team but still want to play let me know and I may be able to place you with a team looking to fill a spot.
Pictures from last night are here
See you this Summer
Summer Registration Is Now Open
Registration for the Summer 2010 Bocce In Boston Season is now open!
Registration will be on a first come, first served basis. The season will begin on July 7th and go until August 25th. Time slots per week will be 6:30, 7:15 and 8:00. Matches take place at Jose McIntyre’s located on Milk Street in the Faneuil Hall/Financial District area.
There are 4 people per team. The team cost is $160 (comes to only $5 per week per player) which includes your league shirt.
Since we have more teams than shirt colors available, we will be asking for your top 3 choices. We will try to have as few overlaps as possible.
Please contact me at bocceinboston@gmail.com with any questions. The below link will take you to registration.
Week 7
Congrats to Kieth Carton and Crew, De-BoCce-Ry, Bocced Boob Job and GTL for qualifying for the finals. Lots of fun matches last night. De-BoCce-Ry took their first loss of the season with a 13 -2 loss against the upstart Put It On My Tab team. And in true Put It On My Tab fashion, they left their credit card at the bar. The Milk-A-Holics were fighting for their first victory of the season. They played close but ended up with another loss. And GTL played the most exciting match of the night. Win and they’re in the playoffs, lose and they’re out. Their match against Snakes On A Pallino went back and forth with Men With Minivan cheering against the GTL squad (hoping they could back door their way into the playoffs). But they pulled it together and won the match.
Another nice night with the Palliny Awards. Currently the categories that are less than 10 votes from 1st place to 2nd place include Mr. Cocktail, Playa Female, Playa Male, Lochness, Alias, Social and Spirit. 3 of those categories have the difference between 1st and 2nd as 3 votes or less. Next week we’ll be taking votes until 7:45. Then we’ll be giving out the prizes for our winners.
The schedule this week will put you up against the team that finished closest to you in the standings through our 7 weeks. So you may have played this team already. I’m already getting nervous for the rematch of Son of a Bocce vs Snakes on a Pallino.

Week 6
What an exciting night! First thanks for the generous donations. We raised more money last night than in all the weeks combined. Excellent job! The updated Palliny Awards have been posted. As I mentioned before, the actual number of votes are now hidden. The leaders in each category are posted. But it’s super close. In 5 of the categories, the difference in votes is 6 or less. So please keep the donations coming in and win a prize!
Ohio State and Michigan
Bruins and Canadians
Red Sox and Yankees
You may have thought those were real sport rivalries. Not so fast my friend…
#1 in that category is Son of a Bocce and Snakes on a Pallino. I was there first hand to officiate this passionate match between old friends. Don’t let anyone tell you that bocce isn’t a real sport.
And then there was 1. Kieth Carlton and Crew suffered their first defeat last night. After the match they weren’t worried as they figured they’d need to get a loss out of their system and take the pressure off. De-BoCce-Ry survived a scare with a come from behind victory to remain the final undefeated team.
Next week is the last of the regular season. The top 2 teams in each league will be eligible for the championship. All teams will play however during the final week. Currently De-BoCce-Ry has clinched a spot in the playoffs. In the Paul Revere League, Kieth Carton and Crew has the best shot of joining them. However if they lose by 12 next week and the Wayne Brady squad wins by more than 11, Wayne Brady will reach the playoffs.
In the Sam Adams League, it’s madness! 6 of the 9 teams still have a shot for the playoffs. I’m looking forward to the many thrilling matches next week. We have been contacted by NESN.com and they are sending someone to cover the championship game for an article on their website.
Cinco de Bocce
Happy Cinco de Bocce!
Toucher & Rich from Radio 98.5 will be at Jose McIntyre’s for a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta with Corona from 5:00 – 7:00. Enter to win tickets to see comedian Bill Burr at the Wilbur Theatre and more!
Matches begin at 7:00 tonight
We have begun pre-registration for new teams for the summer league. If you have a friend who is thinking about joining the next session beginning on July 7th please have them contact us at bocceinboston@gmail.com.
Week 4
Hey Bocce Ballers,
Important note about the schedule, next week is Cinco de Mayo so naturally Jose McIntyre’s is busier than normal. They’re going to have Toucher and Rich from radio 98.5 there and also Corona is having a promo where they’re giving away prizes. So we’re moving our schedule back 30 minutes to accommodate everything. Matches will be at 7:00, 7:45 and 8:30 for May 5th only.
The website has been updated. The standings and pictures from last night are now available.
Only 2 undefeated teams remain but the Paul Revere League is still very tight. In the Sam Adams League it’s still anyone’s game. 5 teams have identical 2 – 2 records.
Very poor showing for the Palliny Awards last night as we didn’t raise a single quarter. Not one vote was handed in. So I’m putting my money where my mouth in. I donated $10.25 to the cause last night and now have the lead in “Mr. Cocktail”, “Playa Male” & “MVP Male” I am hoping someone beats me in all categories by a ton. Please remember that everything raised goes towards The Home for Little Wanderers. I’m hoping that we’ll be able to raise $500 for them. A sneak peak at another prize, the individuals who win “Playa Male” & “Playa Female” will receive a special Bocce In Boston pimp cup.
Lost and Found – 2 weeks ago a men’s black polo. Last night, a women’s blue button down.
Pirate Crawl – Just a reminder that you only have 1 DAY left to purchase your $25 discount tickets for the Pirate Crawl on May 22nd. On May 1st, the price will increase by $5. So get your tickets today! The event includes food, koozies, nametags, temporary tattoos and a scenic harbor cruise. Over a $35 value.
Currently the schedule hasn’t been finalized because we are waiting to see how many people sign up before picking the bars. We do have our favorites so you can probably guess the bars if you’ve been on a crawl with us in the past (can’t wait for Hong Kong to open up again whenever that is) The schedule we do have will look something like this.
2:30 – 3:30 – BAR #1
3:30 – 4:30 – BAR #2
5:00 – 6:30 – BOOZE CRUISE
6:30 – 7:30 – BAR #3
7:30 – Close – BAR #4
